Towels & Towel Clips: Why You Should Bring Them On Your Next All Inclusive Vacation

I know you’re probably already asking yourself why would I pack my own towel on an all inclusive vacation, doesn’t the resort provide those? The answer is yes, the resort does, but it’s still not a bad idea to bring your own. I was skeptical as to why anyone would want to travel with their beach towels, but finally we tried it when we went to Mexico in February 2019 and we won’t travel without them now. The first reason we have chosen to bring our own towels is so that we each have two towels down by the pool. The resort will usually only provide you with one towel that you can exchange on a “towel card” system. We use the resort towel to dry off and lay on because we can easily swap them out for a clean, dry towel. Our towels are used as pillows, which trust me comes in handy either behind your head or back for extra comfort. They also come in handy as a blanket on cloudy days or during brief tropical rain showers. We also use them as place holders in the morning when we want to save our spots down by the pool since they are distinguishable from the resort towels that all look the same.
Tip: Bring a beach towel for each person in your party.

Now, I know a lot of your are probably wondering what in the world is a towel clip and why should I get them? Like bringing my own towels, I needed some convincing. I had started to notice back in 2017 when we went to Punta Cana that people were using towel clips on their chairs. A towel clip is what it sounds like, you use it to clip your towel to the back of your chair, which can keep it from blowing away if there’s a strong breeze. Most importantly they keep your towel from sliding down when you’re sitting up. Who wants their towel sliding down when they are sitting there reading a book? Not me!
