Booking An All Inclusive Vacation in 2021

Over this last year we have missed 2 vacations; December 2020 and February 2021 and we said no more.  We are happy to announce we have booked our next all inclusive vacation package to the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo in Mexico.  This has become our favorite resort and knew it had to be our first trip once we could travel again.  Check out our review of the Iberostar Lindo along with Why Go Back To The Same All Inclusive.

In years past we have booked our vacation packages through Expedia, but this year we did things a little different.  Note we are not affiliated with Iberostar, we just love their resorts.  We checked on the Iberostar website and found that we were actually already part of their loyalty program called Horizons.  It’s completely free, but it gives you perks such as booking discounts and on our last trip we received a bottle of rum and t-shirts.  There are four levels to Horizon and after booking this trip we are now at the highest level.  I recommend checking it out as we received 35% off of our hotel booking plus just by booking through Iberostar you receive their Iberostar Extra Care Insurance to cover medical type expenses, another great perk!  Also, we were able to choose a rate that we could cancel our hotel stay if we needed to for any reason.  Something to note we were not able to use the hotel and flight option on the site as then we didn’t get the good hotel rates or have the option for cancellation rate.

Since we couldn’t use the package deal we decided to check flights through Expedia since and collect points through there and I also looked at a couple of the airlines sites.  After some research we found the best deal for us was to book through Expedia.  Without change fees we are able to move the dates of our flights if something would happen, but we opted not to buy the insurance as we feel very confident that we won’t be cancelling.  In case that is important to you there is an option to purchase that insurance.

After some thought and price checking we have settled on leaving Thursday, November 25, 2021 (Thanksgiving Day) and returning Friday, December 10, 2021.  This will be our longest vacation to date at 15 nights.  We decided that since we had missed 2 trips already we wanted this vacation to be extra special and extra long.  It will be fun to share our experience of what it is like to stay at an all inclusive resort for just over 2 weeks.  This does mean an exertion off the resort is in our future!

Now you might be wondering why we booked so early.  I’ll be honest our last couple trips have not been booked this far in advance, but with so much uncertainty in what travel costs will be like a couple or a few months from now we wanted to book what we feel like is a very good deal.  While maybe resort deals might continue to be good I think flights will only go up as more people are vaccinated for Covid-19 and are ready to get out there and travel further from home.  I’m excited for this next all inclusive vacation, although it’s many months away it feels good to have it on the books.  We looking forward to sharing our experience with everyone!
