Why Go Back to the Same All Inclusive Resort

All Inclusive Resort Tips Return

Growing up we never had a place we would go back to every summer for vacation and when I got married we didn’t do anything like that either.  I always wanted to go to new places and it was hard for me to understand why anyone would choose to go back to the same lake house, same city year after year, but let me tell you I am starting to understand the appeal.  Back in February of 2019 we went back to Playa del Carmen, Mexico and stayed at the Iberostar Paraiso Maya.  We loved the fact that it was a complex of 5 Iberostar resorts: the Grand, Maya, Lindo, Beach and Del Mar.  We loved that there was so much to do and see, plenty of ala carte restaurant options to keep your palate guessing.  We especially loved the pool area and knew we had to come back someday.

We started looking in March and April of 2019, once we could see dates for December and found a deal for the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo right next to the Maya; they share the same pool area and a lot of the same restaurants, but the Lindo was a little cheaper so we thought why not?  We were not disappointed.  We had no problem finding the transportation at the airport as it was in the same place it had been back in February and after being taken to our room and changing into our suits we knew how to get to the pool and easily found a place to eat.  We instantly felt like we were coming home; there was such a comfortable familiar feeling.

It was so nice to not have to spend the first couple of days just figuring out where things were.  With such a large complex there were things we hadn’t even explored back in February that we could now take time to do in December.  We explored different places to eat, different drinks and even got hooked on aqua aerobics.

Tip: When you go back somewhere take time to try something new like a different activity or a different restaurant.

We hope that by early next year we will be able to travel or at the very least plan to travel; everything is dependent on where things are at with a vaccine and COVID-19 in general, I can honestly tell you that a stay at the Lindo is the first trip I want to take.  I am going to be a little more nervous my first time out after this global pandemic.  My husband and I have discussed it and feel like going back to somewhere familiar will help ease the anxiety a bit.

Tip: Have a favorite spot by the pool?  Try a new spot, by changing your location you can get a new perspective.

If you find a resort you love there is no shame in going back there.  There is more exploring to do there in the future and we can’t wait to go back to the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo someday!  To see a full review of the Lindo check out this blog post here.
